#1 Be grateful
As you wake up, instill in yourself a sense of gratitude. Your perspective at the beginning of the day will determine how the rest of the day goes. At this point of time, set your priorities straight and work towards your goals.
Ask yourself as Steve Jobs put it best, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I’m about to do today?”
#2 Practice Mindfulness

Pay attention to the moment and every detail life is offering you right now. Do not linger too long on things that are beyond your control because they will only lead to heartache.
Nurture the most important relationships in your life:
Relationships play a key role in determining the direction of our lives. The most important relationship you have is the one that you have with yourself. So first and foremost, work on that one.
#3 Have a conversation with yourself
Have a nice long positive conversation with yourself where you can talk yourself out of your fears, give yourself a reality check and decide on your next course of action.
#4 Call your parents more often
If you are living away from your family, make sure to call and talk to them often. Engage in family discussions and keep track of the people you love the most. You get this life only once.
Be passionate about your work

This simply means you have to finish the most difficult task at hand first and then go for easier tasks. Plan the day ahead; use a monthly, weekly or daily planner if required to keep track on tasks that need to be completed. Don’t forget to be passionate about everything you do and keep yourself focused.

Studies have shown that bright lights play a major role in increasing the productivity of the work hence, so keep your workspace well lit. This can be explained due to the relationship between light and your body’s biological clock.

#7 The number one rule: spend only on the basis of your earning
Any amount of excesses has negative repercussions. Keeping this in mind, cut down on your expenditures. NEVER spend more than what you earn. Keep a strong track of how you spend your money; write down your spending at the end of the day if required.
#8 Do not be fooled by discounts
In some cases, the stores have bundle offers that come with extra costs so while availing these, instead of saving, you might actually end up spending more than required.
Be compassionate to yourself and take care of your health

Psychological health is equally important to physical health so while focusing on detoxing your body, do not forget to get detoxed from toxic people in your life.

This year, try to spread the love by giving more and taking care of your spirit as well. Free yourself from thoughts that are holding you back.

Finally, try renovating your room or even your house if you wish, go someplace you’ve never been to before, try to be a better version of yourself and make this your best year yet.
