What are kidneys?
The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs found on the left and right sides of the body in vertebrates. In humans, they are located in the abdomen region – one on each side of the spine. The function is to filter out blood that produces urine, and other waste fluid. They are essential as they keep the composition and makeup of the blood stable, which in turn lets the body function properly.
It’s one of the most common and recognizable signs that your kidneys are in trouble. Swelling occurs because your body continues to build up water and causes your joints, limbs, and face to bloat.
#7 Urinary Changes
There are clear signs in your urinary changes that your kidneys aren’t functioning properly. Check out if you’re having difficulty in urination, a pressure in urination, urine is in dark or pale color, urinating is more or less frequent than normal, the amount of the urine is small or larger than normal, the urine is foamy, and instant urges to urinate.
#6 Skin Rashes
If there is an accumulation of waste materials or fluids inside the body, there are certain changes in our skin. The skin produces rashes and becomes itchy. Applying cosmetic products won’t do you any good as the issue lies with your kidneys.
Kidneys not only remove toxins from the body but also produces a hormone called Erythropoietin (EPO). This hormone is responsible for producing Red Blood Cells (RBCs) in our body. They carry oxygen from our lungs to different parts of our body. If the process is hampered then the lack of proper amount of oxygen will make your brain and body fatigued.
#4 Shortness of Breath
As described in the previous segment the lack of oxygen also causes toxins to build up in our lungs. Thus forcing us to take shortened breaths.
#3 Metallic taste
Bad breath and metallic taste are the first signs of kidney failure. When waste materials in the organs accumulate, you will have bad breath. You also will have a change in the taste of your food. Your food will have a slightly metallic taste.
#2 Dizziness and lack of focus
The damage incurred by lack of oxygen inside your body is enormous. Abnormal functions in your red blood cells (also known as anemia) will also make you dizzy and mess up your focus. A problem in your kidneys tend to make you less attentive and forgetful.
#1 Pain in upper back
The most prominent symptom of kidney problem is an upper back pain. This pain not only indicates renal failure but also kidney infection or kidney stones.
You should NEVER ignore these signs. A regimen of healthy food, the proper amount of water and an intake of minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins will keep your kidneys running in excellent condition.
Keep in mind that if you are experiencing serious issues, go to a hospital or consult a physician immediately.
Kidneys are essential as they keep the composition of the body, which let the body function properly. Kidneys are shutting down if you find these symptoms.
