As a dog owner it is your solemn duty to keep your dog healthy and in perfect shape. Balanced food plays a big part in that. We all give them a little of what we are eating including table scraps.
However, did you know that some human foods are toxic to dogs and can lead to fatal poisoning?
In general, there are plenty of dog foods available in the market that are specifically formulated to give your dog a balanced diet. Those foods have all the nutrients, proteins and vitamins that your dog will ever need.
Nonetheless, it is hard sometimes not to share some of what you are having with your furry friend.
You can always make a change in the menu to keep things interesting as long as you know what you are doing and with advice from your veterinarian.

These are meats with low-fat content. Skinless chicken and turkey are good examples of lean meat. They provide vitamin B and amino acids. Try to remove cooked bones from the meat as they can splinter, raw bones are soft so they should be fine.

Salmon and Tuna are fatty in nature but are rich in omega 3 acid content. They are healthy for your dog and will improve brain function and boost their immune systems. For best results, serve them cooked.

A single spoonful of coconut oil will keep your dog’s skin and fur very healthy. It is rich with Monoglyceride Monalarin that has many antibacterial properties.
If you are looking for high fiber content, then oatmeal is your best choice. The whole grain will make your dog’s digestion comfortable and smooth.

Sweet potatoes contain vitamin A, other handy nutrients and it is easily digestible. You can serve them baked or steamed and without seasoning.

Cheese and Yogurt are essentially high in protein and easy to digest. They drastically improve the digestive systems of dogs. However, do take special care as some dogs can be lactose intolerant and dairy products should be carefully regulated.
Eggs, either cooked or raw, have invaluable benefits to dogs. Raw eggs supply them with selenium, proteins, riboflavin and biotin. For cooked eggs, serve them unseasoned.
A few more people foods play a healthy role in a dog’s diet. Nori or seaweed are great for a dog’s metabolism. Parsley is excellent if your dog suffers from stinky breath.
These foods will no doubt provide a healthy boost to your pet. Nonetheless, be cautious and consult a pet expert or a veterinarian before drawing a diet regimen for your dog.
