This is the age when you need to allow your child to become more independent. At the same time, you also need to pay close attention to their development both physically and mentally.

Try to establish a healthy sleep routine. For instance, send them to bed by 9 o’clock and wake them up at 7 o’clock. Stick to the same routine every day until they adjust to it on their own.

Eating Habits 

Your kid will continue to explore all kinds of different foods. They may be fussy and at times you may have to give in to their demands. However, make sure that they are getting all of the essential nutrients they need for healthy growth.

A regular diet should have carbohydrates in the form of bread, rice, pasta etc. They should also be eating plenty of protein, such as chicken, beef and duck etc.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are vital for your 9-year-old kid’s growth. Though most of them are not going to like eating their vegetables, you need to urge your child to eat them.

Fruit can be served in the form of a fruit salad or a juice. However, don’t force them to eat too much of something that they really don’t like.

Take your 9-year-old to a child specialist if your kid shows any of the following tendencies:

  • Excessive grumpiness and withdrawal
  • Self-centered behavior; not willing to share anything with others
  • Struggling to stay attentive when you are talking to them  or during class
