The Chinese airline, Hainan Airlines, teamed up with fashion designer Laurence Xu to design “hot” couture uniform for crew members. The goal was to give a contemporary, fresh look for the brand and to promote China as a modern country. The new set of uniforms is a perfectly blended fusion of modern Western cuts and style with ancient Chinese art elements like waves, cloud drawings, and even the mythical bird, the Roc.
International travelers are sure to be impressed by the males’ double-breasted overcoats and the Cheongsam-inspired dresses for female staff. Cheongsam is a traditional one-piece dress worn by Chinese women.
