Gus and Laurie—two German Shepherd pups—were abandoned on the streets at only three months old. For the next four months, they lived in a barn until rescued by Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue in Virginia. Gus and Laurie have never had anyone else—other than each other—and so, it’s important they find a forever home that will adopt both of them.
Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue is trying to find someone through social media to keep the bonded German Shepherd pups together.
The official Facebook page for Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue has been posting pictures of Laurie and Gus, which have been shared more than 16,000 times. Many people who have seen these pictures have expressed interest in adopting them. However, they have to wait for two to three weeks while the pups are being tested to determine if they can get along well with kids and cats.
Before they are adopted, Gus and Laurie will be spayed and neutered. It’s not confirmed if they are pure-bred German Shepherds or a mixed breed. Understandably, both are in need of socialization before they head to their new home.
