The two-time Emmy award winner Sarah Silverman is known for her dark humor. Her comedy addresses social taboos and controversial topics such as racism, sexism, politics, and religion, having her comic character endorse them in a sarcastic or deadpan fashion.
Despite all her sarcasm, she is very kind-hearted in real life. When she was insulted by a sexist troll on Twitter, she didn’t ignore—she actually responded to her accuser with compassion.
On December 28th, Jeremy Jamrozy called Silverman a C-word in response to one of her tweets. Silverman was reaching out to a Trump Supporter in the hope of understanding where they were coming from.
Instead of retaliating with fire, she responded to him kindly. Silverman found out that the source of his anger is his bad health. And with empathy, she changed the life of a person who was hurting.
